The former Senator of Elgeyo Marakwet, Kipchumba Murkomen, has appointed a new board of directors for the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), consisting of Nimo Omar Haji, Carol Oduor, Richard Munya, Simon Kalekem, Ephraim Karimi Macharia, and Charles Nyabuti. The six members of the NTSA board will hold their positions for a three-year term.

The NTSA is responsible for advising on policy formation within the public transportation sector, developing work plans and budgets, and monitoring the implementation of approved directorate work plans. Additionally, the NTSA plays a crucial role in reducing road accidents by devising effective strategies and implementing them, managing the application of new-generation license plates, and conducting vehicle inspections
